Workshop Schedules

9:00 – 9:45 AM

Amber O’Neal Johnson – Heritage Mom – Sparking Curiosity and Delight in Childhood

Worship Center

When children show strong abilities in one area or another, the adults in their lives often encourage them to pursue hobbies and careers that play off those strengths. That may certainly be an advantage, but sometimes the strategy can leave children feeling incomplete. In this session, we’ll explore a path that supports academic growth while sparking curiosity in childhood. Learn how to spread an inspiring feast of ideas and come alongside your kids as they dive deeply into the passions and interests that make them come alive!

David Nunnery – Teach Them Diligently – Creating A Grateful Home: Way Beyond Please and Thank You!

Lottie Moon Chapel

Gratitude is so powerful in the heart of a believer. It will transform your home, your heart, and your mind. It will improve your platform for teaching, heal your marriage, and so much more.

10:00- 10:45 AM

Leslie  Nunnery – Teach Them Diligently – Heart School- How Great Parents become AMAZING Home Educators

Worship Center

Homeschooling is a great thing. It provides the finest quality, tailored education your children can have, and it gives you the opportunity to build relationships, explore the world together, and so much more. But homeschooling is not an end in itself. Rather, homeschooling is a fantastic tool for discipleship and growth. In this session, we’ll explore how to order your days and manage your homeschool in such a way that you are always going for the HEART of your homeschool.

Sonya Shafer – Simply Charlotte Mason – Laying Down the Rails

Lottie Moon Chapel

Discover the secret to smooth and easy days: habit training. Learn how to instill good habits, which habits Charlotte Mason encouraged parents to cultivate in their children, and practical tips for cultivating the Top Three.

11:00 AM -12:15 AM

Dr. Kathy Koch – Celebrate Kids  – Resiliency: Help Children Embrace Life with Confidence

Worship Center

Children who are resilient bounce back quickly from difficulties and disappointments. Resiliency starts as a choice and can become a part of who they are. It must! Children who are not resilient will be forever defined by trauma and stress. They’ll be pessimistic; stuck in their anger and grief; and give up quickly on God, themselves, and others. When they’re resilient, they’ll use effort, learn new skills, and be effective problem solvers. Dr. Kathy will help you parent so your children develop this quality. Her practical techniques work and you will be able to create an environment that makes resiliency more likely. You and your children must recover from trauma and stress!

Steven James – Cartersville First Baptist Church – Pointing Our Children to Christ Through Discipline

Lottie Moon Chapel

God’s relationship to humanity is a process of instruction and discipline.  This two-fold process is to be present in our parenting (Ephesians 6:4).  While affirming that instruction and discipline are intimately connected, this session focuses on the biblical concept of discipline from both the Old Testament and the New Testament.  Ultimately, we see how effective discipline points our children to Christ and bears fruit that can only be produced through discipline.

12:15 – 1:30PM – Lunch and Shopping

1:30-2:15 PM

Amber O’Neal Johnston – Heritage Mom – Books as Mirrors, Windows, and Sliding Glass Doors

Worship Center

When children are unable to see themselves reflected in their schoolbooks, they fail to develop positive feelings of self-worth. And when they lack occasions to examine similarities and differences between themselves and others, they miss out on valuable opportunities for recognizing the shared humanity that binds all people together. A mirror is a story that reflects your own culture and helps build your identity, a window is a resource that offers you a view into someone else’s experience, and a sliding glass door invites you to enter another’s world. In this session, we will examine the use of all three types of books in our homes as we educate our children while embracing their individuality and honoring others.

Cari Britt–  TTD365 – Seeing God’s Goodness Through Any Circumstance

Lottie Moon Chapel

Circumstances change quickly in this fallen world, especially as parents. “Counting it all joy” is easy to say but sometimes difficult to live out. Learning to rest in the truth of who God is will help build a foundation of faith strong enough to withstand the storms of life.

2:30-3:15 PM

Dr. Kathy Koch– Celebrate Kids– Parenting Power Words

Worship Center

Parents can consistently use strategic power words to efficiently and effectively direct children’s thinking, beliefs, choices, character, attitudes, and behavior. Using these power words will increase cooperation and obedience, decrease frustration and arguments, and build healthier parent-child relationships. Curious? You’ll have to attend to hear some of Dr. Kathy’s favorites. You will not be disappointed.

Leslie Nunnery – Teach Them Diligently – Refocus on Marriage (Women Only)

Lottie Moon Chapel

The world is full of messaging that breeds discontent— your finances are not enough, your opportunities are not enough, your marriage is not enough, etc. Instagram and Facebook absolutely breed that discontent and encourage us to lean into it and feast on it. So, it’s time to refocus our hearts and minds on truth. It’s time to determine in our hearts that we will look at our relationships the way God designed them to be. So today we’ll focus in on that human relationship that’s the bedrock on which all of our others are built— our marriage. We’ll see how God designed it to be and how focusing in on the truths found in the Bible can transform our marriages from the inside out.

David Nunnery – Teach Them Diligently – Husbands Love Your Wives (Men Only)

Room 102

In this men only session, we’re going to discuss what we can learn from the life and death of Jesus about loving our wives and how that can impact our families each and every day.

3:30-4:15 PM

Sonya Shafer – Simply Charlotte Mason – Keep It Simple: How to Teach Your Whole Family Together

Worship Center

Save time and money by teaching most school subjects to all of your students together. Join Sonya for practical strategies to lower your stress level, provide a well-rounded education, and help you and your children build sweet memories. Learn how to keep it simple by teaching your whole family together with Charlotte Mason methods!

Steven James – Cartersville First Baptist Church – Wise Words for Parents: Parenting in the Proverbs

Lottie Moon Chapel

The book of Proverbs is presented as the counsel and wisdom of a royal couple to their son.  Really, it is God’s handbook on how to raise little kings and queens for the glory of God.  In this session, we highlight eight foundational truths that are evident in the Proverbs and that we should be committed to teach to our children.

4:30-5:45 PM

Dr. Kathy Koch–Celebrate Kids– Conversations about Tough Stuff

Worship Center

Children’s thoughts and feelings are always important. In times of confusion and crisis, they matter even more. How do we make it more likely that our children will come to us with their questions, confusions, doubts, and fears about God, themselves, and the culture? How can we help them be honest and how can we carefully answer their questions? Dr. Kathy Koch’s practical, relevant, and fun ideas will help your children know they’re safe and will be heard and helped.

This event will focus on educating, encouraging, and preparing parents to become the home educators God has called them to be. At this time of year, it’s easy to get mired in the day to day activities of homeschooling and life in general. We hope this day of refreshment will help to refocus you on the importance of your mission and build your excitement about the privilege of parenting and discipling your children as God called you to do.

We are focusing on strengthening homeschool families as they begin this school year. As Homeschoolers we have the opportunity to disciple and teach our children in a way that others may not, which makes it all the more important that we know what we are doing; How we should be doing it; and what every member of our family stands to gain when we do it well.

Each speaker touches on a specific aspect of homeschooling and family that when put together will thoroughly equip parents to strengthen their families. As you will see from our speaking schedule, the speakers address reaching the heart of your families as well as the day to day function of running a homeschool successfully.

This event will provide substantial opportunity to speak with experts and speakers.

There will be books available to purchase from our speakers and stores. This will not be of the same scale as a traditional Teach Them Diligently event, but there will be some resources available onsite.

Most hours of the day will have 3 workshop options available to you onsite.

All sessions will be recorded and available through a TTD365 membership, along with every session ever recorded at each event over the last 10 years! You can also purchase a live stream ticket that will give you access to every live-streamed session for each TTD Live event up to 60 days after the event.

The cost for the event is for each person. This means that if you bring children that will use a seat then you must purchase a ticket. Furthermore, these seats at the live in-person event are non-refundable.
