Uncle Rocky – Fireman

Uncle Rocky – Fireman is a character in the “Glad to do it!” series of children’s picture books published by J2B Publishing. The “Glad to do it!” series is a read aloud series about a firemen, police officers, and EMTs who like to help their community. J2B focuses on publishing “Good Books for Boys and Girls” as well as poetry, personal testimonies, devotionals, and family histories. J2B specializes in helping homeschool families publish the works of their students or the musings of their parents. Our youngest author is 9 and our oldest is 87. Read aloud children’s illustrated picture books (4 – 8 age range) about a firemen (Uncle Rocky), police officers (Jack and Kate), and EMTs (Morales and Flynn) who like to help their community. Labeled the “Glad to do it!” series, the books are specially good for Father/Son time before the boys go to bed. Children learn First Responders are true public servants because each story is based on a real fire/police/EMT response. Each responder and their department is cited in the front of the book and then Uncle Rocky, Officers Jack and Kate, and EMTs Morales and Flynn replay the rescue. With the Uncle Rocky – Fireman stories, parent and child enjoy acting out getting dressed for the fire before the truck leaves the station house. In every book, parent and child say “Glad to do it!” along with the characters, because Glad to do it!” is their response when they are thanked for their rescue.

Third Graders will enjoy the chapter book versions of the “Glad to do it!” series as well as “Stop Action Jokes;” jokes a step above Dad jokes.

Girls will enjoy “Who Wants a Cookie?” and “Aunt Louise Comes to Visit.”
