Many homeschool parents and students want a great art education, but don’t know where to start. These online art classes, offered by Heather Martinez, owner of Chook Toons, LLC are geared for students with a desire to enter the animation (cartoon) industry and want to know the nuts and bolts of how to draw for animation and what to put into their portfolio.
These 12-week courses consist of both pre-recorded and live training. Each of the 6 videos will give step-by-step instruction how to draw from life and translate that into the world of animation. 6 live follow-up classes are offered via group Zoom, allowing students to upload artwork ahead of time for critique. Private, one-on-one training is also offered at different membership tiers. Heather is a 25 year animation and illustration industry veteran, having worked for Nickelodeon, DreamWorks, Disney, Random House and more. As a former director/recruiter at Disney, she knows the industry and what makes a candidate “hireable.”
