Finding Fun and Unique Ways to Teach Your Children

When we think of educating our children, we often think of our children sitting at desks or the kitchen table using textbooks and workbooks. While this kind of teaching/learning is enjoyable to some students, most students (and parents!) enjoy breaking out of the more traditional classroom setting in exchange for ideas and activities that are more fun! It is possible to incorporate alternative kinds of teaching and learning into your homeschool, and it doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive! There are ways to use hands-on activities, dance, poetry, drama, experiments, fun literature-related activities, music, travel, and more to spice up your homeschool! If you’re in a homeschool rut or if you’re just not sure how to add a little fun and adventure to your homeschool, we would love to share some ideas and information with you! Your children will thank you (Ok…it may be years from now! But they will!) and your family may discover a new love for learning this school year!

Moreover, her refreshing approach to math instruction will help you teach more effectively, resulting in less frustration for you and your children. The Four Steps of Learning

Learning consists of four steps. No matter what is going on with an individual, each person (whether special needs or typically developing) should go through these same 4 steps. First, the brain receives the information being inputted. Next, the brain must process the information it has received. Third, the brain needs to store that information. Finally, the brain has to use the information. Again, this four-step pattern for learning is the same for every person. There are multiple factors which can affect each step of learning and cause corresponding challenges. Homeschooling Held Hostage

In the past fifteen years, we’ve seen a lot of changes in the homeschool community. There is much more pressure being put on homeschoolers to excel academically. We’ve gone from a few brave moms who, without access to mainstream curriculum, managed to give their children an excellent education, but we’ve forgotten what made it excellent. It was excellent because these moms had a vision for homeschooling. They weren’t trying to re-create school at home, they were simply being obedient to the One who had called them to be different. They knew that if He had called them, He would equip them. And they were right.

If you’re struggling to find joy in your calling as a homeschooling parent, if you’re looking for more LIFE in your homeschool, this is one workshop you won’t want to miss.
