Faith over Fear

It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been parenting or homeschooling . . . fear seems to be like a constant companion, nipping at our heels: fear that we are going to mess up our kids, fear that they will fall away, fear that we will miss the boat, and fear that time is our enemy. How do we step forward in faith? How do we walk in victory today not plagued with insecurity, doubt, or guilt over what we didn’t do yesterday? If you need to be inspired, encouraged, or reminded of who you are and what you have been given in Christ . . . gather ‘round and let’s talk about it!

Balancing it All

Let’s be honest: homeschooling is hard. But what makes it even harder is that it is not our full-time job. We also have to be parents and homemakers while working at our jobs or being involved in our churches or ministries. How do we effectively balance all these important missions that we have been given? How do we prioritize and strategize what truly matters? If you’ve been feeling pulled in a million directions, this one’s for you. Rebecca will be sharing real stories of her successes and failures from trying to run two companies, being involved in ministry, and keeping their home while homeschooling their five kids. If you’re looking for someone who has a ten-step plan, you aren’t going to find it here. Instead, you’re going to find real life from someone who is right here in the trenches with you and some practical tools and strategies she has learned along the way. No one promised that it would be perfect—but that doesn’t mean it’s not possible.

Permission to Adapt

Are you feeling stressed with trying to fit everything in, knowing what and how much you should do, or what it should look like? This session is all about permission. In a culture that is hyperfocused on qualifications, degrees, and how much knowledge you have in your head . . . we can sometimes fall prey to the world’s mindset that we have to do it all by meeting some sort of “quota” of education. But God has uniquely equipped you to know your children, to know what they need, and to raise them in the way they should go. Sometimes we just need permission: permission to adapt your curriculum, to adjust your expectations, or to make your homeschool what it needs to be for you. If you feel trapped by your own expectations and the need to check off the lists, take a minute to remind yourself of the freedom that is yours. And may each of us be reminded to follow God’s voice over the experts.
