Lisa Schmidt became a Christian in the summer of 1991. She and her husband have been married for 32 years and have four children, two biological and two adopted, whom Lisa homeschooled through graduation. Their youngest just graduated last year, and she is officially a homeschooling mama retiree (until grandbabies come along). She loves to mentor other homeschooling mamas on their journey.
Lisa is an ACBC certified biblical counselor (Association of Certified Biblical Counselors) and has also taught VBS and Junior Church for children in grades K-8. Lisa also regularly speaks at the annual ACBC conference, teaches Ladies Bible Study at her church, and speaks at homeschool conventions and women’s conferences all across the country. She has also been a guest on several podcasts, including “Truth in Love” (the podcast for ACBC), Wretched Radio, and has been a guest writer for the ACBC blog, and has also recorded counseling videos for ACBC.
Lisa holds a dual Bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Special Education along with a Master’s degree as a Reading Specialist. She has also been an ACBC certified biblical counselor since 2007. Lisa worked as an Elementary and Special Education teacher and Reading Specialist in the public schools for seven years before she and her husband had their first child. Since then, she has enjoyed serving the Lord at home as a wife and homeschooling mother of four, and also as a Bible Study teacher, biblical counselor, and conference speaker for women.
