Institute for Excellence in WritingAtlanta, GAMobile, ALColumbus, OH
Joann Johnson, B.S.N., M.S., mother of nine children, has been homeschooling for 15 years. Having several children with learning differences, she has sought curriculum that works for many learning styles. After trying numerous writing curriculums, Andrew Pudewa inspired her that children—even reluctant boys—can learn to write. Since then she has implemented the IEW methods with her own children and in co-op settings. She values how writing can be taught through a nonthreatening, methodical technique, much like a musical instrument, while simultaneously teaching a child how to think and express himself.
