Dr. Erika Adams

Dr. Erika Adams has worked in college access since 2002. Her expertise with federal and state of TN financial aid serves students in public, private, and homeschool environments. Her current role as an Outreach Specialist for the Tennessee Higher Education Commission highlights her expertise in career and college exploration, accessing state scholarships; including Dual Enrollment Grants, TN Promise, TN Hope and other TN State Scholarships and assisting students and parents with the Free Application for Federal Financial Aid. Sharing information to prepare students and families for the college-going process has always been part of her personal and career endeavors.

Erika obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Child and Family studies from East TN State University, a MPA and MEd also from ETSU, and her doctoral Degree in Higher and Adult education Administration from The University of Memphis. She is the founding board member of Appalachian Farm Arts Heritage Foundation- a non-profit dedication to re-teaching lost Appalachian traditions of self-sugfficiency. Erika has three sons, two step-daughters, and five grandchildren. She resides in Jonesborough, Tn.
