So They Will Know Him

I’m still smiling from Thursday night.

If you were at our Facebook party, you know exactly what I mean—hundreds of families jumping in, laughing, commenting, sharing their stories, asking questions, and getting genuinely excited about what God is doing in this community. There was so much joy… but there was also something deeper than excitement.

There was hunger.

Hunger to build homes that are stronger.

Hunger to parent with courage.

Hunger to raise children who aren’t just going through the motions—but who know the Lord and love Him.

And as I watched the comments roll in, I found myself overwhelmed with gratitude.

Because what we’re doing together isn’t just “convention season.” It’s not just events. It’s not just another year on the calendar.

It’s a mission.

And that’s why I couldn’t wait to officially share our theme for the year with you—the message that will shape everything we do through Teach Them Diligently in the months ahead.

So They Will Know Him

That’s our theme for the year.

And if your heart leapt a little when you read it, I understand. Because it puts words to what so many parents pray for—sometimes out loud, sometimes quietly in the middle of the night.

“Lord… I want my children to know You.”

Not just know about Him.

Not just grow up around “Christian things.”

Not just learn how to behave in church.

But to know Him personally. To trust Him. To love Him. To walk with Him when life gets hard, and when you’re not right beside them.

The surprising place this theme came from

Over the summer, I did a deep dive into the book of Ezekiel.

And I have to tell you—I used to joke that Ezekiel was my example of a “hard book.” The kind you read and think, “Okay… I’m going to need a map, a commentary, and a gallon of coffee to understand this.”

But when I really slowed down and dug in, something happened.

I found myself amazed—not just at the intensity of Ezekiel, but at the tenderness behind it.

Because over and over again, God repeats this purpose:

“Then they will know that I am the Lord.”

Sometimes those words come after God shows mercy.

Sometimes they come after He brings blessing.

Sometimes they come after He rescues His people.

And sometimes—this is the part that sobers you—they come after discipline, hardship, and judgment.

But in every situation, God’s heart is steady.

Whether the season is good or hard… whether it feels like increase or correction… whether it’s joyful or painful…

God’s desire is the same:

That His people would know Him.

That truth hit me so deeply because it reminded me of something we can forget in the middle of daily life:

The God Who created the universe and reigns over all is concerned with our hearts.

He is drawing us close.

He is making Himself known.

And yes—He truly does work all things together for our good.

Even the hard things. Even the stretching things. Even the seasons that feel confusing.

At the heart of it all, He is saying:

“I want you to know Me.”

Why this matters for families

Now, let’s bring that into our homes.

As parents, what is it we want most?

We want our children to know Him.

We want them to understand that God is not just a concept, not just a set of rules, not just something we do on Sundays.

We want them to know His character.

To recognize His voice.

To trust His goodness.

To believe His Word.

To run to Him when they’re afraid.

To cling to Him when they’re tempted.

To rest in Him when they’re overwhelmed.

And if we’re being honest, this desire grows even stronger as our kids grow older.

Because somewhere along the way, you realize: it isn’t enough for them to “do right.”

They need Jesus.

They need a faith that holds when life shakes them.

They need truth rooted so deep that it steadies them in a world determined to pull them off course.

So they will know Him.

That’s the goal.

And let me say this gently, because I know what it feels like to carry the weight of parenting:

This is not about performing perfectly.

It’s not about building a Pinterest-worthy homeschool.

It’s not about never having conflict or never feeling like you’ve fallen short.

This is about faithfulness.

It’s about turning your family toward Jesus again and again and again—through the ordinary moments, the hard conversations, the discipline, the laughter, the repentance, the messes, and the mercy.

A word for the parent who feels weary

Before I close, I want to speak directly to the mom or dad who is reading this and thinking:

“I want my children to know Him… but I feel like I’m failing.”

Please remember:

God is not asking you to be perfect.

He is asking you to be faithful.

To turn your heart toward Him.

To open His Word.

To pray when you don’t know what else to do.

To repent when you fall short.

To keep coming back to what’s true.

And He will meet you there.

Because God loves your children more than you do.

And He is at work—even in the days that feel small, messy, and ordinary.

Let’s make this the year we build on purpose

Thursday night’s party was fun—so fun.

But it was also a reminder that we are not doing this alone.

There are families all around you fighting for the same things you are fighting for.

Building the same kind of homes.

Trying again after hard days.

Asking God for wisdom.

Choosing faithfulness.

So let’s step into this year with vision.

Not striving. Not panicking. Not comparing.

But with steady purpose.

Let’s disciple our children with intention.

Let’s teach them the Word of God.

Let’s model repentance and joy.

Let’s build family rhythms that make space for truth.

Let’s cling to Jesus when life is hard—and praise Him when life is sweet.

For one great reason:

So they will know Him.

What this theme will shape this year

So what does “So They Will Know Him” mean for the year ahead?

It means that everything we create—through our media, through our events, and through TTD365—will be intentionally designed to serve you with:

biblical truth, practical tools, and real encouragement for real-life parenting and homeschooling.

Here’s what that will look like:

Through our media:

We are committed to filling your inboxes, feeds, and screens with content that strengthens you—content that isn’t fluff, and isn’t fear… but is rooted, steady, helpful, and hopeful.

You’ll find encouragement when you’re weary.

Wisdom when you’re unsure.

Practical ideas when you need direction.

And reminders of the gospel when you need to breathe again.

Through our Teach Them Diligently events:

Convention season isn’t just about information—it’s about renewal.

It’s about getting away from the noise, lifting your head, and remembering what you’re called to build.

This year, as we celebrate 15 years, I believe God is inviting us into something deeper than inspiration.

He’s inviting us into alignment.

To rebuild rhythms in our homes.

To disciple with clarity.

To parent with steady courage.

To teach with excellence and peace.

To keep Jesus at the center.

Through TTD365:

Teach Them Diligently 365 is where our mission continues every single day.

It’s a year-round discipleship and homeschool support community designed to equip parents with clarity, confidence, and practical tools to build a home where faith takes root and flourishes.

Inside TTD365, families receive:

  • On-demand access to years of gospel-rich workshops
  • Monthly live teaching, coaching, and Q&A
  • A warm, engaged community of like-hearted families

It’s not just a resource library. It’s a home base.

A place to be strengthened—not once a year, but all year long.
