In this TTD365 Workshop, Leslie invites you into a deeply personal, practical, and prayerful conversation about a topic that every homeschool parent needs to hear—but often struggles to apply: taking care of yourself first so you can faithfully fulfill your calling as a parent and educator.
Drawing from her own rhythms of rest and reflection, Leslie shares the powerful spiritual and scientific reasons why self-care isn’t selfish. Using the familiar analogy of the airplane oxygen mask, she explores how neglecting your own emotional, physical, and spiritual health ultimately hinders your ability to disciple your children and run the race God has set before you with endurance.
In this episode, you’ll discover:
- Why moms (especially homeschool moms!) often feel depleted and guilty—and how to break that cycle
- The emotional, physical, and spiritual toll of chronic exhaustion
- The biblical foundation for stewarding your body and soul well
- Five key areas where every parent needs to “put their mask on including Sleep – Establishing a life-giving bedtime routine (and four more you’ll discover in the workshop!)
- Real-life encouragement and practical tweaks to strengthen your foundation
Whether you’re thriving in this season or feeling worn thin, this session will help you evaluate where you need more “oxygen” and equip you to lead your family from a place of health, peace, and clarity.
For Consideration:
- How are you doing in all areas of your life: spiritually, emotionally, physically? How’s your marriage? How’s your parenting? How’s your homeschooling? Consider those things so you know the areas in which you need help.
- Where do you need to apply oxygen? Where do you need to focus to get that oxygen flowing so that you can put your own mask on first and help them?
- What small step can you take this week to improve in one area? Don’t overwhelm yourself– only think of 1 for starters.
