It seems everybody has a web page these days. However, most people use a hosting platform like SquareSpace, Wix, or Weebly where they simply drag components to create the page content. Behind these fancy editors are three kinds of files: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. In this class, participants will learn how to use these files to create their own web pages. They will define the structure of the page in HTML, adjust its appearance using CSS, and add interactivity with JavaScript. They will also learn a little bit about how the Internet works – what actually happens when you open a browser and type an address in the location box? This class is targeted at students beginning around 7th grade through high school. No prior programming experience is required.
