Does your child love to play video games? Would they enjoy being able to write their own? Scratch is a drag-and-drop programming language designed for beginners. It separates learning to think logically from remembering obscure keywords and syntax. In this class, participants will write their own arcade-style game in Scratch. Along the way, they will develop skills in problem solving and algorithmic reasoning, and they will learn a bit about geometry. The class is suitable for students beginning around 5th grade through high school. No prior programming experience is required.
