We address the academics of homeschooling, of course, but no one addresses the heart of homeschooling like we do. In a world where the cultural current is constantly pulling families and children away from Christ, you need this! This focus. By some accounts, 60% of children are leaving the church as soon as they leave the home.
With this current in mind, Teach Them Diligently seeks to anchor families in the Gospel—the One True Source of strength. We believe that your home is your Jerusalem and therefore a part of the Great Commission. To fulfill that commission you must be grounded in the Gospel.
To quote one of our attendees, these events are "thick with the Gospel".
We believe that by addressing the heart that all the other aspects of education (organization, balance, focus, parenting, patience, etc.) will crystalize. We invite you to read through the hundreds of testimonies from Mom's and Dad's who have experienced it themselves!
Layered on this foundation is the discussion of curriculum, teaching styles, and specific education strategies in the home. All of the typical questions regarding homeschooling are answered from getting started to special needs, from classroom organization to high school graduation. In addition to hundreds of workshops, we also feature a large Exhibit Hall with thousands of resources displayed in beautiful venues buzzing with the camaraderie of like-minded believers.
Our first event was in 2012. Since then, thousands of families have been strengthened by the Gospel-focus of our homeschool events. They will tell you that there is something unique about Teach Them Diligently that inspires many of them to drive hundreds of miles just to be a part every year!
We have found that the best way—and maybe the only way—to strengthen the family is through relationships because the Gospel is invariably tied to the parenting and marriage relationship in the home. Many of our most popular workshops are not the "How to homeschool better" sessions, but are the ones that focus on how to become a better parent, or husband and wife, and how to unpack how the Good News of the Gospel fundamentally changes our home.
That is why we're confident when we say that this is the perfect convention for the whole family. Because more of the Gospel is what every family needs.
