My Children’s School Is Closed…Now What?

If you find yourself suddenly homeschooling due to the school closings for Coronavirus prevention, you may be feeling overwhelmed with what to do. To help simplify things, we’ve put together a customizable daily schedule, as well as a sample schedule you can use to keep your kids’ learning on track!

9:00-9:45 Prayer, Songs, Devotions

9:45-10:30 Outdoor time: play in the backyard, walk the dog, ride bikes.

10:30-11:30 Academic time*: Read, flashcards, journal

11:30-12:30 Creative time: play instruments, have a dance party, make a craft, a baked treat, a Lego creation, etc.

12:30-1:00 Lunch

1:00-1:30 Chore time: Give each child a disinfectant cloth or wipe and assign them to a room.

1:30-2:15 Quiet alone time: No technology! Naps are encouraged.

2:15-4:00 Academic time*: Read or write for language arts. Practice math facts. Pick an area on the map and learn about it for geography. Learn about types of illnesses and ways to prevent sickness for science. Pick something that interests your child and learn its origin story for history.

4:00-4:45: Outdoor time: Regular outdoor time will help everybody from feeling stir-crazy.
