Rethink Your Perseverance: Parenting Even When You Don’t Want To
Over and over… we say the same things, do the same things, and face the same things time and time again, don’t we. So, how do we stay consistent and intentional in our parenting even when we don’t want to?
Just the audio from this week’s video:
- The Teach Them Diligently Book takes a look at what the Bible says about parenting and how that looks practically in our modern world. Through it, I pray you find actionable information to help you boldly persevere through each stage of your parenting journey. Learn more and pick up a copy here.
- David wrote an incredible article about the Most Important Word to a Discipling Parent. If you have not yet read it, I can’t encourage you strongly enough to do so now. Sometimes we can make our path much harder by not paying attention to the truths he notes in this article. Click here to read that article now.
- Sometimes, we can lose sight of just how amazing our job description actually is! Here is an article, taken from the Teach Them Diligently book, about the privilege of being called Mom. We truly do have the best job on the planet– even on those hard days!

Full-Time Parenting by Israel Wayne– A typical working parent spends just 19 minutes a day looking after their children. In contrast, many children spend about 6 hours per day in school, plus over 7.5 hours per day in media consumption. Add to that the time children spend with their friends or on extra-curricular activities, and it is clear that most American children are not truly being raised by their own parents. Consequently, studies indicate that as many as 65-88% of all Christian youth leave the faith around their freshman year of college (or before) and never return). Increasingly, many parents are determining to take back the raising of their own children. They are not content to be a part-time babysitter for their child. They want to be Full-time Parents. Learn how to take the steps towards becoming a Full-time Parent, or learn how to be a better one.
