I Feel Like I Left Family

Late Saturday afternoon in Branson always carries a special feeling.

Right now, as I sit writing this during one of the final session hours of our convention season, I can hear the laughter from the children’s program down the hall as the kids eagerly wait to find out which team won the weekend. Families are lingering in hallways, finishing conversations they don’t quite want to end. Friends who only get to see one another a few times a year are squeezing in “just one more minute” together before heading home.

And honestly, I totally understand why.

There is something absolutely amazing about these weekends together.

Year after year, we get to welcome so many of the same families back through the doors. We watch children grow taller. We hear stories of God’s faithfulness in difficult seasons. We celebrate victories together. We pray over burdens together. There’s a familiarity and sweetness in seeing your faces each year that I treasure more than I can fully express.

For a few days, we gather with thousands of believers who are pursuing the same mission—to honor Christ in their homes, raise their children intentionally, and persevere in the calling God has given them.

The fellowship is immediate. The encouragement is tangible. The camaraderie feels effortless. And every single weekend, families tell us the same thing:

“We don’t want to leave.”

I know that feeling.

Because these weekends feel like a little glimpse of heaven on earth.

But eventually, the suitcases have to be packed. The drive home begins. Laundry waits. Monday comes. Real-life resumes.

And that’s where the true work begins.

Paul told Timothy in 2 Timothy 3:14:

“But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed…”

That word continue matters so much.

The convention isn’t meant to be the finish line. It’s meant to strengthen you for the road ahead.

The encouragement, conviction, and vision the Lord has given you this weekend must now become rhythms and structures that continue long after the convention ends. The decisions you’ve made for your family, your homeschool, your marriage, and your walk with Christ need support, accountability, and intentional perseverance.

That’s exactly why we created TTD365.

We never wanted families to experience encouragement for one weekend and then feel isolated the other 51 weeks of the year.

TTD365 allows you to continue being surrounded by the same kind of like-minded community you’ve experienced these past couple of weekends. It gives you ongoing biblical encouragement, practical homeschool help, discipleship resources, and a place to stay connected with families who understand the journey you’re walking.

If you found yourself thinking, “I don’t want this to end,” then don’t let it.

Put structures in place now that will help your family continue faithfully in what God has called you to do.

And while you’re at it, go ahead and register for next year’s convention too. There is something powerful about putting a stake in the ground and deciding now that you will continue prioritizing encouragement, discipleship, and intentional fellowship for your family.

Thank you for trusting us with your weekends, your stories, your prayers, your children, and your hearts. Thank you for allowing us to walk alongside your family year after year.

As our convention season comes to a close, I leave Branson grateful, humbled, and full of anticipation for all God will continue to do in the days ahead.

Keep going.

Continue in what you have learned and firmly believed.

The Lord is faithful, and you do not walk this road alone.

P.S. We also wanted to make sure families who weren’t able to join us at a convention this year still had the opportunity to jump in early for next season. Registration for our 2027 conventions is officially open, and you can reserve your family’s tickets now right here: https://teachthemdiligently.net/2027-registration

And because we truly believe ongoing encouragement and community matter so much, TTD365 is on sale this week only at a special rate. If you’ve been considering joining, this is the perfect time. We would absolutely love to walk alongside your family there throughout the year. You can learn more and join here: https://teachthemdiligently.net/event-families-join-365
