Fusion is a one-year missions program that trains young Christians to Be, Know, and Do what it takes to make disciples in hard places. We accomplish this through rigorous spiritual, academic, physical, and contextual training.
From August- April Fusion students study and train at Spurgeon College in Kansas City, MO. In that time Fusion students are equipped in 3 ways:
1. They are trained to Be disciples of Jesus Christ. In order to make disciples of all nations, the believer must first be taught the truth of the Gospel and be shown how to live in response to it. Each student will be placed on a team of 3-5 same gender students. They will attend a local Southern Baptist church with their team while also receiving intentional life-on-life discipleship from their team leader.
2.They are taught to Know how to proclaim the gospel cross-culturally. Exceptional faculty and seasoned missionaries teach the essentials of understanding worldviews and other religions so that Fusion students can communicate the Gospel effectively among those who would otherwise never hear. After one year of Fusion a student ends with 36-39 accredited college hours.
3. We equip them with the skills to Do the work of taking the Gospel to the nations. After completing the 4 major Fusion trainings, our students will be trained in wilderness survival and First Aid, security and risk management, and confident use of public transportation. They will be ready to go live in hard places safely and effectively.
From May-July Fusion students put their training to use on the international mission field. They get to learn the local culture, speak the local language and fulfill the Great Commission for the glory of God!
