Freed-Hardeman University

The mission of Freed-Hardeman University is to help students develop their God-given talents for His glory by empowering them with an education that integrates Christian faith, scholarship, and service. From a small, private campus in Henderson, TN, FHU’s students and graduates go on to accomplish great things. Our undergraduate students receive personalized attention with a student to teacher ratio of 13:1, and nearly 90 percent of students find a job after graduation in their academic area of interest. Our students are admitted with a 100% acceptance rate into graduate programs for Law, Nursing, Physical Therapy, and Optometry, while our Pre-Medicine and Pre-Pharmacy students have admittance rates of 90 and 98 percent. Over 330 student-athletes compete on seventeen different athletic teams, and many students enjoy their time in our social clubs, competing in intramurals, and participating in theater, chorale, or in professional organizations. First-year students also participate in our Passage program that focuses on helping students identify their career goals while networking with over 150 FHU alumni, from doctors and teachers to ministers and company executives. Above all, students are encouraged to grow in their faith with daily chapel, semester Bible courses, our University service day, and school-sponsored mission trips. At FHU, students develop spiritually, physically, and academically as we accomplish our goal of teaching students “How to Live, and How to Make a Living.”
