ASVAB CEP

The ASVAB CEP (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery Career Exploration Program) is the only comprehensive and completely no-cost career planning resource that empowers students nationwide to align their strengths, interests, and work values with a post-secondary plan. The CEP involves three assessments: (a) the ASVAB, an aptitude test that estimates your capacity for academic and vocational endeavors; (b) the Find Your Interests (FYI) inventory, which identifies job activities you would like to perform; and (c) the Work Values Situational Judgment Activity (WV SJA), which identifies what you most value in, and desire to receive from, the work you do.

Products / Services

Students complete the ASVAB, a multi-aptitude test battery (about 90 minutes) and then participate in a one-hour Post-Test Interpretation (PTI) session where they (a) learn what their ASVAB scores mean, (b) complete the interests and work values assessments, and (c) begin to explore occupations (we link to more than 1,000 civilian and military careers through the Department of Labor’s Occupational Information Network [O*NET; four primary career paths are supported: college, work-based learning, military, and US government]). Homeschool parents are strongly encouraged to attend the PTI session.

ASVAB CEP is open to students in 10th grade and above (college students included). There is no obligation to military service or to speak to a recruiter. Indeed, students need not have any interest in the military whatsoever to participate in and benefit from ASVAB CEP.
