Teach Them Diligently is a homeschool event focused on the calling of parents by God to family discipleship and strengthen your family relationships through Biblical homeschooling. We believe that every family is called to Teach Them Diligently, according to Deuteronomy 6:7, and we’re here to help you do that! This particular live event is not just for those who homeschool! We are focusing on the topic of parenting & marriage whether or not you are homeschooling your children.

We thank God for the opportunity to host a small in-person event and live stream it around the world. There has NEVER been a more important time to stay encouraged and focused on the mission at hand, and we are here to help. Tickets are only $49 for either the Live Event or the ticket to watch it all at home. The sessions will be presented and recorded live from stage, including a Live Q & A with our speakers. This event could not come at a better time for families, so be sure to sign up today!
This event provides the unique opportunity to be strengthened not only by the sessions given by our fantastic speakers but also to be uplifted and encouraged by fellowship with fellow homeschool parents, plus there is just nothing like a live event. Don’t start your school year before attending this event!
We are focusing on strengthening homeschool families as they begin this school year. As Homeschoolers we have the opportunity to disciple and teach our children in a way that others may not. Which makes it all the more important that we know What we are doing; How we should be doing it; and What we stand to gain by doing it.
There is just no substitute for the energy that radiates from a live event. The connections you make and the experience a live event provides can not be matched. People are meant to be with people. We learn and encourage best when we are with a community in-person.
If you can not make it to the live in-person event, the next best thing is watching the livestream of the speakers on stage. This is not a collection of info provided across a desk on a Zoom call. The live stream will be from stage in front of a live audience. The delivery from the speakers and the energy from the audience can not be matched, and you will benefit even while watching from home.
Each speaker touches on a specific aspect of homeschooling and family that when put together will thoroughly equip parents to strengthen their families. As you will see from our speaking schedule—which can be seen on this webpage—the speakers address reaching the heart of your families as well as the day to day function of running a homeschool successfully.
What a great idea!! Gather some friends together to make an event out of the live streams. You’ll get the same benefit of fellowship and fun that can be found in Greenville. You will all want to have a ticket, though, so you have access to the recordings in the days ahead.

Reaching the Heart of Your Child—Ginger Hubbard
Based on Ginger’s best-selling book, Don’t Make Me Count to Three! There is far more to parenting than getting children to “act” right. We have to get them to “think” right and to be motivated out of a love of virtue rather than a fear of punishment. Ginger equips parents to reach past the outward behavior of their children and address the issues of the heart. Move beyond the frustrations of not knowing how to handle issues of disobedience and into a confident approach to raising your children.
Taming Your Tongue—Ginger Hubbard
Do you find yourself threatening, repeating your instructions, or raising your voice in an attempt to get your children to obey? Do you feel guilty because you know you should be faithfully training and instructing your children in righteousness but you aren’t sure how? Through personal experience and practical application of Scripture, Ginger guides parents in how to give a biblical reproof. This presentation richly inspires and equips parents to let faithful instruction flow from their lips.
Leaving a Legacy: The Vision of the Homeschool Dad and Husband—Joe Tyler
Too often, men take on the tasks of husband, father, shepherd, principal, coach, and disciplinarian without the vision necessary to define and accomplish the goal. In this session, Joe Tyler helps define the goal and shares how to discover the divinely appointed means of achieving it. You may even learn the secret to making your wife deliriously happy, your home a quiet and peaceful kingdom, your children rich beyond measure, and your father-in-law in awe of your great accomplishments. Come join us in our discussion of what it really means to leave a legacy as a Christian husband and dad.
Marriage Lessons from Real Life—Joe and Zan Tyler
Zan was my best friend and ministry partner when we were in college. I knew I loved her and wanted to know how she felt about me, so out of the blue (we had never dated), I proposed to her during our junior year. She didn’t speak to me for a month.” In spite of this rocky start, Zan and Joe Tyler have thoroughly enjoyed 40 years of marriage. They have experienced many joys and triumphs and weathered many storms. Along with the varied hats Joe wears in the home, he is in charge of attitude adjustments and comic relief. “Being able to laugh through the years has helped me survive things like threats of jail, the pressures of 21 years of homeschooling, and the stress of life in general. Joe makes sure I laugh a lot,” says Zan. Come enjoy a refreshing session of laughter and encouragement as Joe and Zan share candidly about the ups and downs of married life (including their biggest fight ever), while focusing on the biblical principles that have served as the unshakeable foundation of their marriage. While homeschooling introduces a new purpose and dimension into family life, it also can cause more tension and stress in our marriages. Understanding and embracing the magnificent biblical vision of marriage is the key to a vibrant, long-term relationship.
The Inspiring Task of Raising Servant Leaders—Zan Tyler
Servants make the best leaders. Teaching your children to love and serve others is the second most important principle you will ever teach them. This principle, in turn, provides the necessary foundation for training them to become leaders. Come to this workshop and learn how you can effectively teach the lessons of service and leadership in the midst of your already-full homeschool days. We will also discuss how to build powerful, life-changing service and leadership projects into your children’s everyday lives. Be prepared to see your children come alive as they experience the joy of serving others!
Pulling in the Same Direction: A Family Vision For Homeschooling—Zan Tyler
Whether we are teaching phonics or physics, refereeing sibling squabbles, or teaching our children eternal truth, we constantly need to remind ourselves that our work as homeschooling moms and dads has tremendous Kingdom significance. But do your kids know why you homeschool them? Do they share your vision for this innovative, spiritually powerful education you are giving them at home? Just like adults, children and teens need vision to stay focused and energized. Zan Tyler shares powerful principles and practical suggestions for creating a family vision for homeschooling that enables you to all pull in the same direction.

There is much talk these days about a healthy marriage and how to achieve it. One key building block is often overlooked, though. Most of us want to parent our children in such a way as to point them to Jesus, but do we really understand what that looks like? Join Leslie Nunnery as she gives Biblical insight into just what Discipleship-focused parenting actually looks like by examining the principles taught in scripture and giving personal examples of how that plays out in our modern world.
How Gratitude Will Change A Dad’s Heart—David Nunnery
Let Boys be Boys—Mark Hancock
Mark shares three winning strategies for leaders of boys and why this is so important.
Lies About You—Mark Hancock
The most powerful words that define and direct you may never have been spoken out loud. They are the words you say about and to yourself. They can free you to achieve, or they can freeze you in place. If what you are doing can be accomplished in your own strength, you have to ask yourself if it’s worth doing anyway. It’s time to…pursue the things you feel called to but have convinced yourself that you can’t do. And by the will and power of Christ, beyond what you are able to accomplish yourself or even believe about yourself, you can accomplish in the power of Christ. He is the ultimate source of what is true about you. Believe that.
Model What Matters—Stacey Peek
One day the home will be quiet — no more lessons, sports or music lessons. After all of your time with your children, what values will remain in their lives? How will they rear their families? Before that day comes you have the opportunity to model what matters for eternity.
Question and Answer Session—Joe and Zan Tyler, David and Leslie Nunnery, Ginger Hubbard, Mark Hancock, Stacey Peek

How Many People Will be Able To Attend The Live, In Person Event? Usually, a Teach Them Diligently event will have over 100 homeschool speakers, with 1,000 families in attendance and over 5,000 people in the building. This event is much more intimate. We can only accept 170 tickets for this live in-person event to allow for proper social distancing measures in our current climate. We are thrilled to be able to gather in person with as many as we can, though!
How Will This Event Differ From A Normal Teach Them Diligently Event? This is truly a live Teach Them Diligently Homeschool Event with the same Family- and Gospel-Focus you have come to expect from our organization. Every session will be in-front of a live audience which will re-create the same energy, encouragement, and know-how of one of our traditional events so that even from the comfort of your own home, you can feel like you’re actually there.
What Are Advantages To Attending In Person? This event will provide substantial opportunity to speak with experts and speakers about the upcoming school year, not only through the day but at the special lunch and fellowship time we have incorporated into the schedule. Each person in attendance will be invited to join us for a catered lunch onsite.
Will there Be An Exhibit Hall? There will be books available to purchase from our speakers and stores. This will not be of the same scale as a traditional Teach Them Diligently event, but there will be resources available onsite.
What Type Of Safety Measures Are You Implementing Onsite? The rooms will be set up with social distancing measures in place and a quick temperature check will be given as attendees check in to make sure no one attends with a fever. Attendees will have the freedom to choose whether to wear masks or not. Rooms will be thoroughly cleaned during the day. Air purifiers will be in place throughout the space to clean the air throughout the day. The in-person meeting is built with common-sense to allow networking and connection to other homeschoolers while minimizing any risks of illness.
How Many Sessions Will Be Available Onsite? Most hours of the day will have 3 workshop options available to you onsite. The one in the auditorium will be streamed live on Friday, while the other 2 rooms will be available for viewing on Hey Summit a few days after the convention. The complete workshop schedule is available on this page.
Will The Sessions Be Recorded? All sessions will be recorded so we can broadcast as a live stream. Tickets to the Live In-person event include lifetime access to the recordings. Therefore, you will not miss a single session.
May I Bring My Children? We are not able to provide a children’s program at this time, so if you bring your children each of them will require a ticket to the event.
Are The Tickets Per Family Or Per Person? The cost for the event is for each person. This means that if you bring children that will use a seat then you must purchase a ticket. Furthermore, these seats at the live in-person event are non-refundable. We have every reason to believe after researching this thoroughly that the event will move forward. Tickets come with access to the live stream and lifetime access to replays.
If I Can’t Make It To Greenville, Can I Still Enjoy The Sessions? There are tickets available for just the internet livestream if you can not make it to the in-person event. These tickets are the same cost as the in-person tickets and include lifetime access to the recordings.
And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house.
