Drawing Cartoon Characters Animation Workshop

Brief discussion of my 50+ years in the animation industry, followed by demos of various characters that I’ve created & worked on. I give a step-by-step method of how to draw some of these characters, including “Mickey Mouse”, “Winnie The Pooh”, “Tigger”, “Mrs. Brisby” & more.

This workshop is suitable for ages 8-12. Please bring your own sketchpad and pencil.

About John Pomeroy

John Pomeroy is an American animator, producer, writer, and painter. John has been a professional animator for over 50 years. He’s worked on Disney productions such as “The Rescuers” in 1977, “Pete’s Dragon,” and “The Fox and the Hound.” He left Disney in 1979 with his partners Don Bluth and Gary Goldman and started Don Bluth Productions. There he animated and co-produced “The Secret of Nimh, “An American Tail,” “The Land Before Time,” “All Dogs Go To Heaven,” and “Thumbelina.” John returned to Disney in 1992 to supervise animation on the character of Captain John Smith in the feature “Pocahontas.” He also supervised animation on “Atlantis The Lost Empire,” and “Treasure Planet.” John lives with his wife Cami and three children in Brentwood, TN.
