Teach Them Diligently is a homeschool event focused on the calling of parents by God to family discipleship and strengthen your family relationships through Biblical homeschooling. We believe that every family is called to Teach Them Diligently, according to Deuteronomy 6:7, and we’re here to help you do that!
When: August 7, 2020, 9AM-8 PM Eastern
Where: GRACE BAPTIST FELLOWSHIP
37 Pinckney St., Greenville, SC
Register Now! If you register before midnight on Saturday, August 1, you will also receive a ticket to a catered lunch with all our speakers. It will be a great time of fellowship in the middle of our day.
TTD Live in Greenville tickets also include lifetime access to all the recordings.
When: August 7-8, 2020,
Where: YOUR HOME OR ANYWHERE ELSE YOU WANT TO WATCH
Why don’t you… Get some friends and watch the event together. You’ll enjoy the fellowship and the sessions. Group babysitting, anyone?!? Each person would need a ticket to be able to access the recordings for the sessions you aren’t able to watch.
TTD Livestream tickets also include lifetime access to all the recordings.
We thank God for the opportunity to host a small in-person event and live stream it around the world. There has NEVER been a more important time to stay encouraged and focused on the mission at hand, and we are here to help. Tickets are only $49 for either the Live Event or the ticket to watch it all at home. The sessions will be presented and recorded live from stage, including a Live Q & A with our speakers. This event could not come at a better time for families, so be sure to sign up today!
This event provides the unique opportunity to be strengthened not only by the sessions given by our fantastic speakers but also to be uplifted and encouraged by fellowship with fellow homeschool parents, plus there is just nothing like a live event. Don’t start your school year before attending this event!
We are focusing on strengthening homeschool families as they begin this school year. As Homeschoolers we have the opportunity to disciple and teach our children in a way that others may not. Which makes it all the more important that we know What we are doing; How we should be doing it; and What we stand to gain by doing it.
There is just no substitute for the energy that radiates from a live event. The connections you make and the experience a live event provides can not be matched. People are meant to be with people. We learn and encourage best when we are with a community in-person.
If you can not make it to the live in-person event, the next best thing is watching the livestream of the speakers on stage. This is not a collection of info provided across a desk on a Zoom call. The live stream will be from stage in front of a live audience. The delivery from the speakers and the energy from the audience can not be matched, and you will benefit even while watching from home.
Each speaker touches on a specific aspect of homeschooling and family that when put together will thoroughly equip parents to strengthen their families. As you will see from our speaking schedule—which can be seen on this webpage—the speakers address reaching the heart of your families as well as the day to day function of running a homeschool successfully.
What a great idea!! Gather some friends together to make an event out of the live streams. You’ll get the same benefit of fellowship and fun that can be found in Greenville. You will all want to have a ticket, though, so you have access to the recordings in the days ahead.

Great Waters Press/Raising Real Men
Real. Authentic. Practical. Hal and Melanie Young are not just authors and speakers, but they’re the parents of six sons (in a row!) and two daughters. The experience of raising this van-full has proved two things – you need God’s wisdom to raise a family, and you need help to make it practical! That’s their goal and message—start with Biblical foundations, then share how to put principles into practice.
Grace & Truth Books
Dennis has served as a pastor for 26 years, is author of four books (most notably, “Your Child’s Profession of Faith” and “Courtship and Dating – So what’s the Difference?”) and is a visiting professor at Tlapaneco Bible Institute in Mexico. Dennis helps families through resources and encouragement– always with a pastor’s heart.
Teach Them Diligently
David and Leslie Nunnery have dedicated their lives to equipping and encouraging families to see their home as their most important gospel work and to prepare their children to be world changers for the Kingdom of God. They view homeschooling as a tremendous tool for families to accomplish their ultimate goals as they encourage parents to seize control of all decisions regarding the education of their children. They have done this through producing events, media, podcasts, courses, and more.
Of course, you want to succeed at this homeschooling thing! But what does it take to reach that goal? In this session, Sonya shares mom-to-mom encouragement about the top qualifications and priorities that are vital for homeschooling (and for life). Do you have what it takes to homeschool successfully? You might be surprised.
Did you know that you have influence? You do! The question is, what you are doing with the influence that God has given you? You have influence with your children, your friends, family, co-workers. What are you doing with it? How is your faith influencing those around you? In this powerful presentation, Heidi will share six character traits of leaders who have successfully navigated the ups and downs of leadership and used their influence to make a difference in the lives of those around them. Your legacy is already being built. What will it be?
What are you aiming for? This motivating message is based on the Apostle Paul’s summary of why he taught – 1 Timothy 1:5: “The goal of our instruction is, love from a pure heart, and a good conscience, and a sincere faith” – perfect goals for godly parents. The work of pastors and parents have this in common: both are “shepherding” souls! Dennis designs to equip parents to raise up children whose lives overflow with love, a sound and discreet conscience, and built on real faith.
Have you ever had a war break out in the middle of history or read aloud to a child sitting upside down? You may be teaching a boy! Research shows that boys and girls learn differently. Understanding the differences can help to preserve the love of learning and the academic confidence of our sons: the early birds, the late bloomers, and the boys who would really just rather not. Understanding what they need at different ages – before school, as young learners, in the middle school years, and in high school can make us better homeschool parents and make them better students. Come hear from parents who’ve homeschooled six boys from the beginning and graduated four so far, the award-winning authors of Raising Real Men, as they share solid research and practical advice on how to turn wiggle worms into scholars – and enjoy doing it!
Gratitude is so powerful in the heart of a believer. It will transform your home, your heart, and your mind. It will improve your platform for teaching, heal your marriage, and so much more.
“I’m overwhelmed!” “My kids are going to have gaps in their education.” “Everything depends on me.” “I’ve failed too many times.” “I can’t do this right.” “I’m screwing up my kids.” “Everyone else’s kids are doing better than mine.” Have you heard the lies, too? Join Heidi as she talks about her own experience of homeschooling seven children over 23 years and shares what will keep you in the race til the finish line. The key? Preparing your heart before your homeschool. You’ll want to bring a friend to this one!
Homeschooling is a great thing. It provides the finest quality, tailored education your children can have, and it gives you the opportunity to build relationships, explore the world together, and so much more. But, homeschooling is not an end in itself. Rather, homeschooling is a fantastic tool for discipleship and growth. In this session, we’ll explore how to order your days and manage your homeschool in such a way that you are always going for the HEART of your homeschool.
You don’t have to be a music major or an art aficionado to teach fine arts to your children. In this hands-on presentation, you’ll discover an easy yet effective way to give your children music appreciation and art appreciation that will enrich their lives and yours.
At eleven, one of our boys was just learning to read and at fourteen he still struggled to spell three letter words. Little did we know that he’d be reading ancient philosophers for fun at seventeen and that he’d go to college on a full academic scholarship! In this workshop, we’ll talk about how to help your struggling learners through high school (and give them a love of learning!), how to get accommodations on the SAT and ACT, and how to find out what help a college can give them – and you’ll be surprised just how much they can do! Our struggling learner is on the Dean’s List at his college and getting accommodations that really help. Find out how!
We all get discouraged, burned out, even go through times of depression. What’s a mom to do when such a season of life comes upon her? You’re still committed to homeschooling the children – that resolve hasn’t changed. But you’ve changed. You can live in a way that honors God even while you’re depressed. And there are well-trodden pathways out of that wilderness. You just need help seeing them again. Come for the encouragement.
This workshop is designed for parents interested in homeschooling, just beginning the homeschool journey, or for those homeschooling for a while who may be “stuck in a rut” and need new management ideas. This is not a “you must do it this way” type of seminar. All families and children are unique and have varying learning styles and situations that factor into the schooling environment. Suzanne has many years of experience in homeschooling and have a passion for assisting parents as they seek to educate their families at home.

There are no perfect Biblical fathers. All had flaws, but some were still regarded as faithful. Abraham is called the father of all who believe, even though he’s far from a model of perfection. Just like Abraham, you can be a faithful father to your children, despite the flaws. A man needs to know his calling from God, be willing to sacrifice for it, and have patient faith through trials.
This is the perfect time to ask your questions from a panel of homeschool moms who have been there/ done that– NOTHING is off limits!! This session promises to be a fun and incredibly helpful time as our speakers share their experiences, ideas, successes, and flops in hopes that you’ll be way ahead of the curve when your new homeschool years starts.
Homeschool dads have a special opportunity to invest in their families both by supporting their wives in their homeschool endeavors as well as taking advantage of the incredible relationship-building opportunities homeschooling gives you. Come and hear these veteran homeschool dads share their experiences, ideas, and even their missteps along the way.
Yes, we want our children to have good habits, but many of us struggle with habits in our own lives. Take a look at four powerful pictures that give insight into how habits are formed and what to do about your bad habits. Learn the three most important words to keep in mind when habit-training. Discover how to instill your own good habits that will serve you well and help your days run smoothly.

Let’s look together at how God will fundamentally change the way you approach parenting, marriage, and every other area of your life through the way you pray. Then, we will all spend some time praying together in a very directed way that is sure to be a blessing and encouragement to all.
In the past twenty years, we’ve seen a lot of changes in the homeschool community. There is much more pressure being put on homeschoolers to excel academically. We’ve gone from a few brave moms who, without access to mainstream “curriculum”, managed to give their children an excellent education—but we’ve forgotten what made it excellent.
It was excellent because these moms had a vision for homeschooling—they weren’t trying to re-create school at home. They were simply being obedient to the One who had called them to be different. They knew that if He had called them, He would equip them. And they were right.
If you’re struggling to find joy in your calling as a homeschooling parent, if you’re looking for more LIFE in your homeschool, this is one workshop you won’t want to miss. join Heidi as she talks about her journey away from curriculum-driven, workbook based homeschooling and into delight-directed learning. What she learned will bless and inspire you.
The turmoil of the tween/preteen years between nine and thirteen usually catches parents by surprise. Diligent students become addled and distracted. Kids raised in church start questioning the existence of God. Sweet children seem to climb on an emotional rollercoaster – and then invite you to join them. Don’t get a ticket for that ride! Resist the temptation to lose it yourself and instead, learn how to shepherd your children through this challenging age, in this funny and all-too-real workshop. Lay a foundation to make the teen years great!
Many godly fathers are becoming aware that, as family shepherd they should lead the household into a habit of family worship – time in the Word of God and prayer together. But many also tremble at the idea, feeling inadequate. “How on earth do I lead my children into understanding God’s Word, when I’m just an ordinary Christian man?” Dennis presents simple, practical ideas any Dad can put into practice. You can do this! You don’t have to be a Bible scholar.
In a time when voices of faith are being silenced, Christians have a wonderful opportunity. Psalm 107:2 says, “Let the redeemed of the Lord say so.” It’s God’s desire that as His children, we would engage every corner of the culture—stepping out in faith, away from the comfort of our churches and bringing the hope of Jesus to a generation in moral, emotional and spiritual crisis. Listen as Heidi St. John shares three things that you can do right now to give feet and a voice to your faith! You’ll leave encouraged and inspired!
With the right tools, your student will be equipped and eager to continue learning for his entire life. Give your child practice with six practical tools now, and you will be amazed at how well he transitions into being a self-learner. Come learn what the six tools are and how to use them in your home school. Plus, discover the secret that makes those tools extra powerful in creating lifelong learners.

How Many People Will be Able To Attend The Live, In Person Event? Usually, a Teach Them Diligently event will have over 100 homeschool speakers, with 1,000 families in attendance and over 5,000 people in the building. This event is much more intimate. We can only accept 170 tickets for this live in-person event to allow for proper social distancing measures in our current climate. We are thrilled to be able to gather in person with as many as we can, though!
How Will This Event Differ From A Normal Teach Them Diligently Event? This is truly a live Teach Them Diligently Homeschool Event with the same Family- and Gospel-Focus you have come to expect from our organization. Every session will be in-front of a live audience which will re-create the same energy, encouragement, and know-how of one of our traditional events so that even from the comfort of your own home, you can feel like you’re actually there.
What Are Advantages To Attending In Person? This event will provide substantial opportunity to speak with experts and speakers about the upcoming school year, not only through the day but at the special lunch and fellowship time we have incorporated into the schedule. Each person in attendance will be invited to join us for a catered lunch onsite.
Will there Be An Exhibit Hall? There will be books available to purchase from our speakers and stores. This will not be of the same scale as a traditional Teach Them Diligently event, but there will be resources available onsite.
What Type Of Safety Measures Are You Implementing Onsite? The rooms will be set up with social distancing measures in place and a quick temperature check will be given as attendees check in to make sure no one attends with a fever. Attendees will have the freedom to choose whether to wear masks or not. Rooms will be thoroughly cleaned during the day. Air purifiers will be in place throughout the space to clean the air throughout the day. The in-person meeting is built with common-sense to allow networking and connection to other homeschoolers while minimizing any risks of illness.
How Many Sessions Will Be Available Onsite? Most hours of the day will have 3 workshop options available to you onsite. The one in the auditorium will be streamed live on Friday, while the other 2 rooms will be broadcast on Saturday. The complete workshop schedule is available on this page.
Will The Sessions Be Recorded? All sessions will be recorded so we can broadcast as a live stream. Tickets to the Live In-person event include lifetime access to the recordings. Therefore, you will not miss a single session.
May I Bring My Children? We are not able to provide a children’s program at this time, so if you bring your children each of them will require a ticket to the event.
Are The Tickets Per Family Or Per Person? The cost for the event is for each person. This means that if you bring children that will use a seat then you must purchase a ticket. Furthermore, these seats at the live in-person event are non-refundable. We have every reason to believe after researching this thoroughly that the event will move forward. Tickets come with access to the live stream and lifetime access to replays.
If I Can’t Make It To Greenville, Can I Still Enjoy The Sessions? There are tickets available for just the internet livestream if you can not make it to the in-person event. These tickets are the same cost as the in-person tickets and include lifetime access to the recordings.
And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house.
