True Love Bible Search and Sort

Love. It’s a very popular subject any time of year. But it’s a particularly hot topic as we inch closer to Valentine’s Day. If you stopped people on the street and asked them, “What is love?”, you are sure to get a plethora of answers. But the world has a very skewed view of love. And they are very vocal about them. Just turn on the secular radio station for a couple of songs and you are sure to hear a love song, sung by someone who is just as confused as about love as everyone else.

We, as believers, know that God is the source of love. God is Love! And God’s Word also has a lot to say about love. A whole lot. Last year, my son and I did a sort and write activity with love, based solely on the passage in 1 Corinthians 13. But this year, I want to take it a step further with him. In the next couple of weeks, we will be doing a True Love Bible Search and Sort activity. Today, I want to share it with you.

cut apart the definitions of love and sort them | Teach Them Diligently This activity will get our kids searching and reading God’s definition of true love through His Word. Included on the download are passages of Scripture for kids to read about love. Once kids have searched and read God’s Word, they cut out and read the phrases listed in the sort about love and decide if they are worldly definitions or God’s definitions. The definitions of love are then sorted on the sorting mat, provided on the free download.

My prayer is that as your child (and my child) works on this activity, God’s Word will sink into his heart. And he will be prepared to create his own definition of love, not based on the shifting definitions of this world, but on God’s Word.
