“This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24
I have such a tendency to get all wrapped up in the elusive tomorrow– far too often, I borrow worries and bothers from a day that may never come– and in so doing, I lose so much joy from the blessed day God has given me. Throughout this last year as we have worked on the first and now second year Teach Them Diligently Conventions, I have been in such a “get it done” mode that I feel like my mind is always running a day ahead. Problem is– God’s plan for my tomorrow is so much better than any plan I could ever devise!
God really spoke to me this morning as I read my Bible that I need to savor and rejoice in the day that God has given me TODAY! My goal is to not constantly look ahead and borrow worry from a day that I am not promised– and rather live every moment with my eyes fixed on the One Who holds the future! His ways are so much better! And, by not being so fixated on tomorrow, I will be a much greater blessing to my family and those around me that I am called to serve right now.
How about you? Are you choosing to rejoice in the day that God has made, or are you wrapped up in the elusive tomorrow? How I hope that we can all bless our families by choosing to rejoice!
