Iceland Whaling

A new rule from Iceland’s government says fishermen can kill up to 2,130 baleen whales in the next five years. Many Icelanders support whale hunting. But more and more businessmen and politicians say, “No whaling!” Read more: https://kids.wng.org/node/3963

Wildfire Dog Reunited with Family

Kingston the dog jumped out of his family’s pickup truck 101 days ago. They were driving away from a terrible wildfire in Northern California. Now an animal rescue volunteer has reunited Kingston with his family. Read more: https://kids.wng.org/node/3962

Olympic Breakdance?

Organizers of the 2024 Paris Olympics want to add a new sport to the games—breakdancing! Whether this athletic dance makes the International Olympic Committee cut as a sport remains to be seen. Read more: http://teen.wng.org/node/5195

Maryland Memorial Cross

The U.S. Supreme Court will decide whether a cross in the middle of a Maryland highway can stay. The cross is a World War I memorial, but some folks say it means the city of Bladensburg unfairly favors Christians. Read more: https://teen.wng.org/node/5197

Smallest Baby Boy

The world’s tiniest surviving baby boy was released from the hospital. Delivered prematurely at about 9.45 ounces in August, he was discharged to go home at a healthy seven pounds. Read more: http://teen.wng.org/node/5199
