Can I say that I’m a mom of four and feel like a failure when our family doesn’t run like the (edited version of the) Duggars. Last year was the first year at Teach Them Diligently conference. I was by myself with all four on Thursday night. Ok. No big deal, I am the mom, the grown up in charge, we can do this it’s kind of like ‘quiet time’ at home. Well. I ended up leaving the class early and got to my room and CRIED myself to sleep. “I paid this money and have looked forward to renewing and re-energizing our homeschool and I’m not going to get A THING out of it.”
The next day was a new day (as it always is,) but I was dreading it. But after dropping off three of my four and then meeting my mom with the fourth (he was 1) I prayed a prayer for God to bring peace to my mind and allow me to concentrate and navigate the schedule to my liking.
I. Was. AMAZED. at the difference. Even when I do leave my children in the nursery and/or with someone, I’m usually concerned and worried throughout the time away from them. But I was at total Peace. They were safe and having fun– running and jumping and singing and working their little minds. This activity helped them sleep so much better on Friday night.
They truly enjoyed their classes and cried when we had to leave (only a couple hours) early. It was such a small price to ‘pay’ for the peace and contentment knowing my kids were safe and having fun (and weren’t with me for once-I love our kids, but this 24/7 is overrated sometimes-LOL).
If I could pass any piece of advice to anyone…it’s to invest the small amount in the children’s program. You won’t regret it.
Teach Them Diligently 2014 Mom
We hope you, too, will find peace of mind knowing that all of our children’s workers truly have a heart for teaching children God’s Word. The optional children’s program affords your kiddos a safe place to have a great time and learn much, but it also allows moms and dads to benefit fully from the convention as a whole. Teach Them Diligently is designed for the entire family! Whether you choose to enjoy every bit of it together by taking your children to the workshops with you or to enroll your children in the special age-appropriate programs we offer, we pray your family will join us in 2015!
