Dr Lynn Lease

Dr. Lease holds a PhD in Education with a specialization in instructional design for online learning, an MA in College Student Personnel Administration, a BS in Journalism and Public Relations, and an Ohio Professional Teaching License grades 1-8 with a reading endorsement. She joined OCU in 2017 as the Academic Program Director of the new OCUOnline Plus program offering online bachelor’s degrees designed specifically for traditional-aged college students.
Dr. Lease started her career in higher education in 1993 spending the first eight and a half years in Student Affairs, specifically in Residence Life. She then transitioned to Academic Affairs after a brief time in primary schools as a 7th grade language arts teacher. Dr. Lease has spent the last twelve years in various faculty roles most recently founding a faculty development center for another Ohio higher education institution. She is currently continuing the development and oversight of OCU's newest program offering OCUOnline Plus students age 18-24 the opportunity to complete a bachelor's degree 100% online with options to earn credits through studying abroad in places like Italy with Saints Bible Institute, offering semester-long on-campus learning and community options on the main campus in Circleville, completing customized internships in the students' local area, traveling and studying in various location in the U.S., and more.
Dr. Lease resides in Findlay, Ohio with husband Jeff and teenage children Savannah and Herschel. She is a member of Findlay First Church of the Nazarene and serves on the Discipleship Ministries Team and is active in small groups and church-wide activities.

The Big Transition: From Homeschool to College
The transition to college can be difficult for anyone, but it presents unique challenges to students who have been in a homeschool environment. In this session, Dr. Lynn Lease, Academic Program Director and Jason Dennis, Associate Director of Enrollment will offer an overview of this unique transition including topics related to AP tests, CLEP exams, admissions tests, dual enrollment and funding options for homeschool students, an Early Admit Program offering early college acceptance, and choosing the program modality that best fits the needs of your student. Attendees will also receive a Homeschool-to-College ebook to supplement this workshop.
